CARE & SERVICES
CARE & SERVICES
KLAW implements innovative and inventive steps to effectively care for these wild-born and abandoned cats, including:
-
Spay/neuter programs, including vaccinations and a wellness checkup, are provided by local veterinary services.
-
Cats are fed daily, year-round, at feeding stations at strategic locations in the area to keep them healthy and to discourage them from hunting songbirds indigenous to the area.
-
Winter shelters, filled with straw have been set up at or near feeding stations for every cat.
-
Permanent loving "forever homes" are continuously sought for adoptable cats and kittens.
-
KLAW proactively seeks new approaches to alleviate the suffering of companion and free-roaming cats in and from around our region.
KATTAILS
KATTAILS

GRINDL was born to a feral mother and was not tame enough for adoption. He lives near a feeding station and runs out to greet KLAW volunteer feeders. Homeowners and weekend guests give him and his companions special treats..

MAXI AND MINI were five weeks old when KLAW volunteers rescued them in a neighboring community. They were fostered for eight weeks, received medication and vaccinations and were placed in an adoring home.

ANGEL, in her years outside, was shy but friendly to those who took time to get to know her. Two summer residents wooed her continuously and finally decided to adopt her at the end of the season. She now happily lives in their New York City apartment.
